Application of aqueous film-forming fire extinguishing agent

The aqueous film-forming fire extinguishing agent is also called “light water” foam extinguishing agent. It consists of fluorocarbon surfactants, non-fluorinated surfactants (hydrocarbon surfactants or silicone surfactants), additives that improve foam performance (foam stabilizer, antifreeze, cosolvent, thickener, etc.) and water. It is categorized into 3% AFFF (3:97) and 6% AFFF (6:94) based on mixing ratio with water. The shelf life is 8 years.

How does the aqueous film-forming fire extinguishing agent work

After being mixed with the foam mixing device, the aqueous film-forming fire extinguishing agent, the generated foam runs through the foam generating and spraying device (foam generator or foam nozzle) and be sprayed on the burning oil. The water extracted from the foam can form a well-sealed water film on the surface of the fuel, and isolate the fuel from the air.
